Cardiosource

Site

As above.

Content

Designed
for cardiovascular specialists, this site provides details of more than
600 recent and current cardiovascular clinical trials, together with lists
of completed trials spanning many years.

Cardiosource is a joint project of the American College of Cardiology
and Elsevier Science.

Other information available

Members
of the American College of Cardiology are entitled to full-text access to
the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, ACC Current
Journal Review
and Trends in Cardiovascular Medicine. Access to
other full-text articles is now limited: entitlements are explained on the
site. Access to the clinical trials database, practice guidelines, Reuters
news feed, and employment opportunities remain freely available to all
registered users.

Access

Pre-registration
required. Access to certain parts of the site became more restricted in
March 2000; access to the clinical trials database (among other services -
see above) remains freely available to registered users.

Comments

The
trials database can be searched by acronym, title, disease and treatment.
The site’s 13 linked journals also have a search facility. The
organisers state that the site is updated weekly, and that an
international editorial board is responsible for ensuring the independence
of the editorial material.
