The database can be searched alphabetically, by keyword, institution, investigator and/or in any of five major disease program areas:

Retinal diseases
Corneal diseases
Lens and cataract
Glaucoma
Strabismus, amblyopia, and visual processing
Details of the currently recruiting extramural trials were updated in January 2000; the Clinical Studies Database was last modified on March 15, 2000.
