This is a growing database of major ongoing and completed stroke trials. Currently, trials are divided into two categories: acute stroke (15 ongoing and 39 completed trials) and stroke prevention trials (40 ongoing and 29 completed). Each listing includes contact information, status, description, information source, results if available, and links to all relevant trial publications.
There is a Stroke Recovery Trials section under construction.
This Stroke Trials Directory is described as a joint effort of the Internet Stroke Center at Washington University in St. Louis (a stroke education web site) and the American Stroke Association (a Division of the American Heart Association).
Other information available
A Stroke Therapeutics Directory includes status reports for more than 100 investigational therapies and several hundred links to relevant citations. It can be browsed alphabetically or in categories under two broad headings: acute stroke therapy and stroke prevention.
Additional information is provided for patients and families (including medications, stroke centers and support groups), and health professionals (including resources, research, management and training). Both sections have links to related websites.
