Pharmacokinetics
It is absorbed after oral administration from the gastro-intestinal
tract. When given orally Miconazole is metabolised in the liver. It can
also be given intrathecally.Single application on skin acts for a few
days .

& Dosage
Topical Skin
FUNGAL SKIN CONDITION: (2% cream) Apply twice daily for 2 weeks Rub
gently. Longer treatment may be necessary.
Action
At low doses miconazole inhibits ergosterol synthesis which results
in disturbance of cell membrane functions. At high concentrations causes
direct membrance damage. Effective against several fungal pathogens
including Trichophyton, Microsporum and Epidermophyton; Candida albicans,
Cryptococcus neoformans, Cocciodes and paracoccioides.
Interactions
Few interactions have been reported.
Adverse
Effect & Precaution
Burning sensation, local irritation, contact dermatitis.
Alcohol abuse or Hepatic disease may increase the
chance of adverse effects caused by azole antifungals.It may cause
vaginal irritation.
Pregnancy: Use with caution.
Breast Feeding: Use with caution.
Man: May be used.
