A halogenated hydroxyquinoline with antibacterial and antifungal activity. Used topically. Given orally, also effective in intetinal amoebiasis. Currently, however, safer drugs are available for the indication.
Topical
steroids: May suppress or attenuate hypersitivity reaction.
Aluminium: Incompatible with aluminium.
