It is a long Plasma half life.

& Dosage
Oral
DUODENAL ULCER, BENIGN GASTRIC ULCER. REFLUX OESOPHAGITIS.
PROPHYLAXIS OF RECURRENT ULCERS: 75mg in the evening or b.i.d.
PREVENTION OF ACID ASPIRATION DURING GENERAL ANAESTHESIA:75mg the
evening before surgery and again 2 hrs before. Renal impairment:
Creatinine clearance
Action
Potent and selective inhibition of basal and stimulated
gastric acid secretion through competetive blockade of H2 receptors.
Total pepsin secretion is reduced in a dose dependent manner. There is
an independent mucosal protection action. No significant endocrine
effect.

Precautions
Special Precautions : In renal and hepatic
dysfunction reduced dose is to be given.
Pregnancy : Contraindicated
Brest Feeding : Contraindicated
Men : May be used in low Dose.
