Work in vitro and in animals (1) suggests that although there is some absorption of benzoyl peroxide following topical application, any absorbed drug appears to be metabolised in the skin to benzoic acid and rapidly excreted in the urine.
Topical Skin : MILD TO MODERATE ACNE ALONE OR AS ADJUNCT TO OTHER PREPARATIONS : Applied over the lesions once or more often in a day. The area should be washed and dried before application
Benzoyl peroxide is active against propionibacterium acnes which is associated with acne.
PABA sun screens may transiently discolour skin.
Tretinoin: Concomitant use may cause significant skin irritation.
Contact allergy and local irritation, scaling.
Precaution: Avoid contact with eyes & mucous membranes.
Pregnacy : Use with caution.
Breast Feeding: Use with caution.
Man: May be used.
