Pharmacokinetics


 



Chlormezanone is absorbed from the
gastrointestinal tract, with peak plasma concentrations being obtained 1
to 2 hours after ingestion. A plasma half-life of 24 hours has been
cited.

Chlormezanone appears to be metabolised by hydrolysis then oxidation and
conjugation, and is excreted in the urine, mainly as metabolites and
conjugates.

Indication
& Dosage


 


Painful muscle spasm associated with trauma, lumbago, inflammatory &
degenerative processes. Neuritic vasomotor pain. Premenstrual tension,
dysmenorrhoea. Musculo-skeletal disorders.

Dosage: Adults: 100-200mg thrice daily.

Children: (5-12yrs): 50-100mg of chloremzanone 3-4 times daily.
Preparations are available in combination with other analgesic and
antiinflammatorydurgs which are used for treatment of lumbago,
inflammatory degenerative process, osteoarthritis, fibrositis, trauma
involving muscle ligaments and tendons, myositis, neuretic vasomotor
pain, trauma assocated with inflammation and spasm.

Alcohol or other CNS Depressants like barbiturates, narcotics: Additive
effects.

Nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, skin rash.



Impaired hepatic or renal function
