Combination Chemotherapy for Hepatitis B Virus
Drugs , Sept 2000; 60 : 517-531
Chemotherapy remains the only treatment option for controlling chronic HBV hepatitis and none of the strategies have been constantly successful. All new drugs are capable of reducing viral load rapidly but the initial response is followed by very slow elimination of the residual response. Development of resistance is a major obstacle. Combination chemotherapy may suffer development of drug resistance.
