Frequency of Recurrent Lupus Nephritis among Ninety-Seven Renal Transplant Patients during the Cyclosporine Era.
Arthritis Rheum 41:678-686, 1998.
Renal transplantation has become widely used for patients with systemic lupus erythematosus. A follow-up in 96 consecutive patients from 1984 to 1996 covering 106 renal transplants showed that there is a 9% frequency of recurrent lupus nephritis. This rate is higher than suggested in the literature.
