Transsphenoidal Microsurgical Therapy of Prolactinomas: Initial Outcomes and Long-term Results.
Neurosurgery 44: 254-263, 1999.
Transphenoidal microsurgery is effective in treating selected patients with prolactinomas. The best initial and long-term results were seen in patients with preoperative prolactin levels 200 ng/mL or lower (ideally, £ 100 ng/mL) and with grade I (microadenoma) or grade II (noninvasive macroadenoma) tumours.
