Retrospective study of 95 ears in 81 pediatric patients operated for stapes from 1980 to 1994 at the House Ear Clinic.



Study reviewed this procedure is safe and effective for this patient population. Co-existing middle ear anomalies limit the results with congenital stapedial fixation. As mentioned in congenital fixation, one should have a high index of suspicion of perilymphatic or CSF gusher.
