Bone Density Measurements of the Paranasal Sinuses on Plastinated Whole-Organ Sections: Anatomic Data to Prevent Complications in Endoscopic Sinus Surgery.

    Laryngoscope 109: 400 -406, 1999

During functional endonasal sinus surgery (FESS), anatomical variation of paranasal sinuses (PNS) have been the cause of severe complications. Density of bones in this relation was studied by Cadaver study – plastinated whole organ section.

This is the first investigation studied with minor and major bone density of the PNS and ethmoid floor to help novice or learning surgeon to minimize the risk of FESS resulting in complications.
