    Submucous Cleft Palate: A 10-Year Series.

    29 patients with submucous cleft palate between 1 to 14 years were operated by a single surgeon between 1986 to 1996. There was high success rate of 96% as far as speech, evaluation was concerned. The patient with velopharyngeal insufficiency (VPI) of more than 8mm had lesser success rate.

    The Efficacy of Perioperative Steroid Therapy in
    Pediatric Primary Palatoplasty

    45 Children operated between 1989 to 1996 were
    studied and administered Steroid therapy.



    The incidence of postoperative airway distress and
    fever was significantly lower in the steroid treated
    group than in the placebo

    group.



    So postoperative airway distress and fever and fever
    can be controlled by the above therpy.
