    Quantitative Assessment of
    Vestibular Otopathology

    The
    above center is established by
    Shuknecht to study histopathology
    of Temporal Bone section . The 
    author 
    now in –charge has
    developed a new method to quantify
    the vestibular cells of types I
    and II and way to assess the the
    damage of vestibular organ . Such
    studies in the past have been done
    by 
    building up sections of
    cochlea to assess hearing 
    otopathology and were
    correlated with the Audiometric
    findings.So far such method
    existed to quantify the vestibular
    cells damage in vestibular
    otopathology. The significance of
    this is that it will help 
    to correlate with the
    functional data obtained from
    vestibular testings. However this
    is still not newly as specific as
    in data achieved in cochlea.
