Reconstruction of Resistant Strictures of the Fossa Navicularis and Meatus

    J Urol 160: 359-363, 1998

Conclusion – With appropriate techniques, permanent correction of resistant glanular strictures is possible. The 1 stage approach to fossa navicularis and meatus reconstruction allows a functionally successful, cosmetically appealing long term result.

Glanular strictures typically respond poorly to dilatations and urethrotomy because most result from significant infection and ischemia .

Results of a vascularized on-lay flap are excellent although the mean duration of follow-up in this study is only 4
    years.
